This is a key role in AP technology leadership team, with the following primary purpose:
AP Regional Product Performance:
Lead a strategy to develop systems to identify emerging field conditions as early as possible. Utilize all available means to provide a thorough analysis & recommendations to management with respect to potential field action.
Partner with Tire Technology, Legal & QTECH to drive efforts to develop an appropriate forward strategy & recommendation to management.
Support the Legal Department by providing thorough analyses of Product Adjustments, Product Damage Claims, Bodily Injury & Fatality Claims for their use in all legal discoveries, Litigation & the defense of Goodyear in legal proceedings & negotiations. Develop information required by Risk Management in support of insurance claims.
Guide efforts to maintain & enhance the performance & capabilities of the Universal Adjustment System with the goal of earlier identification/detection of emerging Product performance conditions/trends. Develop new techniques & tools to more effectively understand the product adjustment & field performance data.
Mentor & Coach Global Product Performance team members in the proper use of the Universal Adjustment Tools & Analysis Techniques. Responsible for growing the technical capabilities of Global Product Performance associates by addressing technical gaps through providing training &/or mentoring opportunities. Provide direction & sound technical advice in accordance with experience, common sense & past lessons learned.
AP Regional Field Engineering:
Lead Country Field Engineering teams to ensure an ongoing environment of safety, engagement, motivation and development.
Ensure the AP Field Engineering teams are up to date with technical knowledge and training.
Support the AP Field Engineering teams in problem solving activities (including, root cause analysis) and customer communications.
Manage property damage claims, through collaboration with the Regional Quality and Country Field Engineering and Business teams.
Support Product Development activity by providing field engineering expertise (vehicles, applications, service conditions, etc.) during RMM & *** reviews.
Responsibilities:
1. Engage with the Product Performance and Field Engineering teams on a regular basis via team meetings (AP/ cluster/ country and 1 on 1), with the aim of clear communication and alignment, identifying any emerging critical conditions, identify any gaps in knowledge.
2. Conduct Safety and technical knowledge training on a regular basis.
3. Business travel to AP Countries:
1) Face to face communication/ training with Field Engineers, business leaders, quality leaders and manufacturing plants
2) Visit Customers (dealers, distributors, fleet customers) to conduct SWOT analysis for GY vs competition. Identify opportunities for improvement and communicate with other GY teams (Sales, Marketing, Supply Chain).
3) Visit country warehouses to understand tire storage conditions, new tire conditions and opportunities for improvement
4. Support meetings & reviews to provide expert guidance on Field Performance:
Highlight any potential risks based on past lessons learned

Requirements:
1. Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Automotive or Aerospace
2. 10+ years’ experience in Automotive Engineering (Tire industry or
Original Equipment - tire development)
3. Leadership - people management skills, understanding of cultural
awareness, belief in Diversity and Inclusion, good listening skills and
cool & calm demeanor
4. Communication - fluency in verbal and written English
