Job Description
The team is looking for a system design DRI(Direct Responsibility Individual) who is responsible for the design and deployment of systems, which carry out calibration and performance validation of the touch sensor on a well known tablet product line. You will be responsible for the full spectrum of the lifecycle of the test system - from prototyping to deployment at mass production. You will work closely with the Camera and Display group to define calibration and test procedures, and design high precision instrumentation & systems to be able to perform this efficiently in a factory environment. As a Calibration and Instrumentation Engineer, you will
1. Develop state of the art measurement systems.
2. Introduce cutting edge technology to people around the world to make their life better
3. Touch every aspect of a system, including HW design, SW development, vendor engagement, algorithm optimization, data mining and factory deployment
4. Work collaboratively with a creative and diverse team of experienced engineers from all disciplines including Systems Hardware, Product Design, Reliability, Software and Operations
Job Responsibilities
Design, specification, development and deployment of touch calibration and test systems. These equipment calibrate and verify performance for use during new product introduction (NPI). Responsibilities include:
1. Design, develop, optimize, review and debug software in C/C++/Objective-C used in interacting with embedded systems
2. Specify and acquire instruments, components and tools for use in a NPI environment
3. Collaborate with cross functional teams to specify and implement test coverage
4. Run simulations or experiments to make data driven decisions and presenting results to senior management
5. Deploy calibration and performance verification stations throughout the NPI cycle
6. Generate reports that analyze large amounts of NPI touch sensor performance data
7. Debug devices from the system level down to the component level
8. Redefine existing algorithms to optimize them for performance or execution time
9. Balance decisions between engineering asks and manufacturing efficiency while ensuring product quality
