The middle-aged manager asked a few questions about my resume. I was listening most of the times while he was talking. What he highlighted was that accuracy outweighs efficiency and the post they offered requires a translator to be responsible and with deft mastery of both Chinese and English.
Then went with the written exam. The questions include a Chinese-English translation, an English-Chinese translation and three proofreading exercises. I didn’t do it very well and the manager pointed out some mistakes. He criticized me for being dogmatic and having the inclination of using complex words while ignoring the fundamental accuracy.
My advice: Be careful and try your best to avoid some basic grammar mistakes! Good luck!
