About Volvo Group China
Volvo takes an active part in Chinese economic development. Since 60 years ago, when China and Sweden officially established bilateral relations, the Volvo Group has played an important role in industrial, commercial, environmental protection, cultural, and sports exchanges between the two countries.
In 1992, the Volvo Group set up its first office in China - Volvo Trucks Beijing Representative Office. Today all business units within the Group have entered China, and the business operations cover more than 20 provinces, cities and autonomous regions in the country. The Group has 4,792 employees in China.
In addition to providing its leading products and world-class services, the Group’s commitment to China is seen in its support of top sporting and cultural events, such as the Volvo Ocean Race, Volvo China Open, and Volvo Ski Sprint & Vasaloppet. The Volvo Group also provides support to Hope Schools in rural areas, and other cultural activities including the rebuilding of the 18th century Swedish trading ship the Götheborg, the Gothenburg Symphony Orchestra, and the Gothenburg Opera House.
