At Amazon an SDE/SDET can expect to design flexible and scalable solutions, and work on some of the most complex challenges in large-scale computing by utilizing your skills in data structures, algorithms, and object oriented programming.  Coming to Amazon gives you the opportunity to work on a small development team in one of our many organizations: We build highly-available, scalable distributed systems to support millions of customer worldwide every day.  

Here’s what we’re looking for:

Smart and fun!  

Great coding skills – Java and/or C/C++.  Ability to know when to use LISP, Erlang, Ruby, or Python preferred

Expertise in data structures and algorithms – when you would use hash tables vs. arrays vs. trees?

Ability to effectively articulate technical challenges and solutions

Deal well with ambiguous/undefined problems; ability to think abstractly

Want to own it all: requirements, design, implementation, testing, and operational support

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering or related technical discipline

Previous technical internship preferred

Strong verbal and written English skills preferred
