Microsoft365 Big Data and Compliance Engineering team is hiring software engineers to work on big data performance and compliance systems for Windows and Office worldwide.
Hundreds of millions of global customers use Microsoft365 (M365, including Windows, Office and Office365) products every day. The engineering and telemetry logs, datasets behind this are at world’s largest scale: 1000+ PiB storage and 700K CPU cores. There are various kinds of data platforms and systems working with each other to deliver efficient services. The M365 Big Data team manages this critical big data platform and we continuously optimize cloud storage & processing resources for M365 worldwide. We have achieved 100 million dollars cost reduction in the past few years, and have accumulated a wealth of technical experience in distributed storage and processing fields.
Our team is also updating and establishing the data governance process to enforce access management and controls for protected data. Our team will design and build this compliance system with highly reliable and secure requirements, which will be used by all engineers in M365 to meet all privacy commitments.
Successful candidates will become experts on big data performance, and will share best practices with thousands of M365 engineers all over the world. Your responsibilities include:
• Collaborate with program managers in Redmond to design and build M365 compliance systems to govern data access and privacy
• Design tools and reports for compliance and audit
• Responsible for compliance daily operations and maintenance
• Research, analyze, and investigate optimization opportunities on M365 Big Data platform
• Ensure M365 capacity stay in allocated quota by optimization in both storage and processing
• Design tools, analyze and leverage data mining, generate BI reports to improve the efficiency of data capacity & resource management
The ideal candidate must have:
• BS or MS degree in Computer Science or related field
• 0-5 years of experience on design/development with C#/SQL Server/ASPX/JavaScript/Azure
• Quick learning and solid problem solving, design, coding, and debugging skills
• Communication in English: reading, writing, listening and speaking
• Cross-team collaboration skills
• Accountable and proactive
• Optimization mindsets and skills/experience is a plus
• Experience with distributed system is a plus

面试未通过
外包岗位：
一面做题，过了。
二面电话了解情况，问了个稍微考察算法的二分查找。
三面视频面试，就往期的经历问的稍微详细了点，
然后又问了个二叉树的路径和的问题。也过了。
四面也是视频面，
最后的题目有点脑筋急转弯的意思。第二天晚上才想到答案。当然是没有过啦！
不过微软的面试让人感觉挺舒服的。面试官会根据你的经历去问你工作中遇到的问题，而不是一套标准的问题重复问。
面试就是根据你的过去去了解下知识水平。
而且面试官聊天都挺舒服的，并不会让人产生不平等的感觉。
